This DVD confirms all that I have felt, thought about and read about. It is material channeled by non physical sources. For those sceptical about channeling, think about how some of our holy scriptures came about. Now channels are effectively radios, that pick up broadcasts out there. Bear in mind, not all programmes on the radio/tv are good. Let your heart decide whether something works for you or not. What is said on this DVD, resonates with my being. So enjoy, or not, it is up to you to decide. I would highly recommend this, as in terms of films, there is little as informative about our souls like this.

One of Eckhart Tolle's best programs, May 29, 2009

This DVD is very clear and practical. If you only watch or listen to one program by Eckhart Tolle, this is the one to get. Most human beings live in a virtual reality world of mental constructs, and they rarely experience the richness of this moment. They are continually looking for a purpose in the future, while missing their primary purpose: to fully experience What Is, in this moment. On this DVD, Eckhart discusses:

* The concept of Time. I've never heard it explained so clearly. There is no past and no future. All that we call "time" is a mental abstraction. We rush around wishing we had more time, and all we have is this moment. His discussion on Time brings the topic back to your purpose: to live your life in this moment (rather than wasting it living in mental abstraction).

* Achievement vs. Purpose. Eckhart travels the world speaking and teaching, and has certainly achieved far more than most people. His achievements and efforts have arisen out of the present moment awareness that he lives in. When your focus is on the end result, and in the process of achieving that result, you miss your real purpose (finding your sense of home, self and completeness in this moment), your achievements take on far less meaning. Let your motivation for achievement arise out of the completeness of being IN your purpose (as opposed to trying to complete yourself by achieving some purpose you made up in your head).

Contrary to the one-star reviewer of this DVD's opinion, Eckhart is not suggesting finding your purpose in sitting on the couch, eating & watching Oprah all day. But of course, Jesus never advocated many of the things that have been said and done in the name of Christianity either. Those who have ears to hear tend to hear, and the rest walk away with more mental constructs to add to their virtual selves.

This DVD isn't just for people looking for their first Eckhart Tolle experience. If you have been reading, listening to and watching Eckhart for years this DVD is well worth the investment.

Most people want to find their purpose because they are looking for completion, for fulfillment, and to be all they can be. This DVD will show you where to find that purpose. As to what you do, what you accomplish, what you achieve, etc... that's something else.

So here's the big question: If you are completely fulfilled, will you be motivated to do anything, or will you just sit around, eat and watch Oprah? Some people think you have to be unfulfilled in order to accomplish anything. They seem to think that all achievement arises out of unfulfillment. This philosophy turns you into a Human Doing; looking for that next achievement to complete your self. But you never get there. Human Beings find their purpose in Being. Out of that place of completion and fulfillment they achieve great things.

I wouldn't have taken the time to write this review, but I initially saw the one-star review and didn't want people to miss a great DVD for the wrong reasons.

Not a "personal growth seminar," lol!, September 29, 2009

There's something about the way Eckhart Tolle speaks. When he explains the simple fact that "there are no happy endings," somehow you know deep-down that it's perfectly okay. In this outstanding production Mr. Tolle expands on the major themes in his book, The Power of Now, including finding self/God; the pain-body (for adults and children); how to find peace ("spaciousness") in a flower, a traffic jam, and anger; a method for handling unhappiness and saying yes to life (even if you are, as I was, a "walking NO"); and how life cooperates with us when we stop resisting the Now. He goes into detail about how the false self is constructed and maintained, and how to realize what lies within that and all temporary forms. With his unique laid-back intensity and self-deprecating humor, he borrows wisdom from several religions and spiritual sages, weaving it brilliantly into the story of the new consciousness blooming within us.

The cameras are wisely focused on Mr. Tolle throughout, with brief, undistracting shots of the audience reactions at beautifully timed moments. Both DVDs in this set are enlightening, as well as entertaining and enjoyable to watch again and again. I absolutely recommend it for Tolle fans - you will love it! It would make a great gift for people who could benefit from the message, but who are reluctant to read the book. What a wonderful DVD for couples or families to watch together - or even have turned on in the background - as the 'energetic quality' of the words spoken from Presence do their magic.

I read reviews of this book, and they are as paradoxical as the book itself seems to be... at first read.

Jed McKenna, fictional or non-fictional, creator of a work or simply a process that seems to be writing a book, is himself an enigma of epic proportions. If one stops at this layer with the book, the whole point is that there is no point except getting a good dose of irreverent and fun blasting of all the world's religions, new age thought, and science as an alternate religion.

The book, however, defies its surface. Just as U.G. Krishnamurti defies explanation, the author and the book defy the layers of BS in which we shroud true spirituality. What is spirituality other than humankind's search for meaning and purpose in a seemingly purposeless and meaningless world? What is spirituality other than a search for Truth?

For someone who had wandered through being raised fundamentalist Christian and subsequently converting to Hinduism, reading extensively in Chaos mathematics and Quantum Physics, searching through quasi-metaphysical works, and studying everything from Kabbalism, Gnosticism, numerology, and astrology to the Bible, Darwinism, and Relativity, this book served one purpose. That purpose... toss it on the fire (it provides valuable fuel) and keep going.

After reading this book, I felt like someone had given me a golden key which unlocked all the goo and rephrased all my study into a brand new context. All of it and none of it points to the Truth of existence. I felt like Arjuna being stunned with the reality of my situation. To paraphrase, I too felt like I was just 'having a bad day at the office when the Universe flashed me.'

Truth burns, and that is what makes this book so valuable. There is only one message in it, "Ask yourself who you are until you know." That is the whole of the book said succinctly and perfectly. Begin this process and never be the same. Blow off the layers of who you think you are until you know what you really are. The complete message of the book only serves to help the reader do one thing, look inward and ask hard questions. Done honestly with great intent, the questioning serves only to remove all the layers of cultural, social, and religious dogma, and what lies underneath is the greatest journey of discovery that one can ever make.

If you truly want to know what the h**l is going on, this book is highly recommended.
